Small business owners cannot afford to jump on every bandwagon that comes down the road.  In my initial meetings with small business owners, I find many spoken and unspoken objections to doing social media branding.   Being a small business owner myself, I can appreciate their hesitations.  In this post, let me share with you the most common objections to social media branding.   Do these resonate with your own doubts about social media branding?  Feel free to add your own objections in the comment section.
Common Objections to Social Media Branding
“How can you make money from social media sites where people talk about what their cat ate for breakfast?”
“There maybe millions of people participating on these sites.  How do I reach my customers?”
“I tried them and gave up after a month because it didn’t do anything for my business.”
“I don’t have time to sit in front of the computer all day.  I have a business to run.”
“They might work for internet businesses.  How can they help a local brick and motor business?”
“With so much noise and clutter, how will anyone find my business?”
“I would run out of things to say on social media sites.”
“Aren’t social media sites for kids and people who have too much time on their hands?”
“I’ve heard you cannot advertise on these sites.  So how can it help my business?”
“Where do I start to do this social media branding?”
“Where’s the proof that social media branding produces profits for a small business?”
“There are so many social media sites.   How do I know the best sites for my business?”
“My customers don’t use social media sites.”
Conclusion
These are all valid objections to small business social media branding.  In next post,  I will provide some answers to these common objections.
To be continued, your comments are always welcomed…
