Localized Domain Name

Start by getting a localized domain name that includes your business keywords and your location. Example: www.lakevilleheatingandcooling.com In this example the keywords for this business are “heating and cooling”; the location is “Lakeville”. Having a domain with your keywords and location is the key to a Mini-Location Websites.

When people do a search for a “local heating and cooling in Lakeville”, the search engines will immediately go to this domain. If your current business name is John’s Furnace and Air Conditioning, the search engines will not find you because it doesn’t match the search phrases used by potential customers. You want to get a WordPress Blog. www.wordpress.org. These blogs are free and you can easily make them into a three page website without programming expertise. They can show you exactly how to get a domain, get it hosted and download a WordPress theme to create your localized website.

Three Page Mini-Location Website

You have a lot of choices of WordPress Themes (formats). You will want to create a Home or Landing page that is static WordPress Page (does not change); a static About Us page; and a blog page for Tips or Articles. (A blog page allows you to keep adding material to the same page).

Each of these three pages will be heavy on your business keywords and keyword phrases. They also will be heavy on providing your location qualities (business name, address and phone number).  For example, your business name, address and phone number can be placed on every page on each page footer or sidebar.

For each of these three pages you will want your Meta title, Meta descriptions and Meta tags to have your keywords in them and your location. Home or Landing Page

This page should focus on your product or service and the customer benefits (how it makes your customer’s life better). You can include on it a banner type ad in the heading of the page that shows clearly your phone number. Have plenty of local geographic references and keywords on the page.

Page Two—About Us

This is not a page to just describe your business. It’s a page to tell the reader how your business can be helpful to them in solving their local problem. Again, use plenty of keywords and location identifiers within the text on the page.

Page Three—Tips or Articles

On this blog page you will add at least weekly a new Tip or Article about your business topic. These blog posts should be rich in your keywords and your business location. Search engines like fresh sites better than stale sites. By adding an article or tip each week, you are providing the search engines with fresh material. This will give your business a higher ranking on the local search Map.

Claim This Website on Local Search Directories

Now that you have this localized three page website, find the top ten local directories to claim your business using this website as your URL instead of your original website. Start with Google Place, Yahoo and Bing search engines.
